Community is Collective Care

This mural was inspired by the mobilization of mutal aid efforts among community members in Santa Cruz County in August 2020, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic and devastating wildfires. The mural feautures six individuals across different backgrounds  yet all demonstrate care for the community in their respective fields.

Each person depicted was invited to be portrayed with an object that represents healing for them. They were then asked to share their reflections on what healing means for them and their audio stories were recorded. Click below to listen.
